Happy 20th, Linux!!

The coolest operating system (in my humble opinion), Linux, turns 20 today. If you don’t think you know what Linux is, most TV shows and movies, when they show computer screens, are running some version of Linux. Oh yeah, and that Android phone you have? Totally running Linux.

What makes Linux so great? It is distributed under the GNU General Public License, which means it can be used, modified, and redistributed by anyone. This has encouraged community development and improvement of the operating system. Companies like Google, IBM, Cisco, The New York Stock Exchange, Amazon, Wikipedia and the U.S. Post Office have embraced it. And because of affordability, more and more small businesses are seeing Linux as a viable resource. Hooray to you, Linux!
